COVID-19 POLICIES

We hope that the quality and comfort of your bodywork session is uninterrupted by the necessary changes and precautions we will be taking during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following precautions and procedures will be required for you to receive bodywork at Unfurl. These have been carefully considered for your safety, the safety of the therapist, and the safety of other patrons.

Here is what we are doing to help keep clients safe:

  • Massage therapists are wearing masks at all times in the massage room
  • The room is being cleaned with an EPA approved disinfectant between every client and there is a HEPA filter running at all times.
  • Therapists will change clothing between each session. Therapists are frequently washing hands and using hand sanitizer to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
  • Hand sanitizer is available to clients while at Unfurl. If you need a mask to wear, that will also be made available to you.
  • Cancellation fees will be waived for COVID-19 related cancellations; fees will remain in place for no-calls/no-shows.
  • More time will be taken between clients. Please respect this time for disinfecting by coming 5 minutes early and leaving when your session is over.

Here is what we are asking for from you to keep all clients as safe as possible:

  • If you have been exposed to COVID-19, are experiencing any symptoms, or have been exposed to someone who has been sick in the last 14 days, please reschedule your session.

  • Upon arrival you will receive a pre-appointment questionnaire that must be completed (questions shown below).

  • You will be asked to wear a mask while face up and while in the treatment room as well as before and after your session. (While face down, the face cradle will have a towel to catch airborne particles or you may choose to wear your mask.)

  • It will reduce exposure if you can come with exact cash or a pre-written check for payment; however we will still accept credit cards.

  • Please arrive on time with as few personal belongings as possible and please leave promptly after your session to allow us time to properly disinfect the space.

Please be prepared to sign-off on the following questions upon arrival. If you are unable or unwilling to sign-off, then you will be asked to reschedule your session:

  • I understand the COVID-19 virus has a 7-14 day incubation period during which carriers of the virus may not show symptoms and still be highly contagious. It is unclear as to how long the COVID-19 molecules linger in the air, which can transmit the COVID-19 virus. Therefore, I understand that I am putting myself at risk of contracting COVID-19 unknowingly by receiving bodywork and give my consent.
  • I understand that a risk of asymptomatic COVID-19 is blood clots; massage therapy is not recommended for people with blood clots as they may be dislodged during session.
  • I confirm I am not presenting with any of the following symptoms of COVID-19:  fever, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of taste/smell, dry cough, sore throat.
  • I have not traveled by air or train in the last 14 days.
  • I have not been diagnosed or knowingly exposed to COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
  • I understand that my name and contact information might be shared with the state health department in the event that a client or practitioner at this facility tests positive for COVID-19. My contact details will only be shared in the event they are relevant based on suspected exposure date, and only for appropriate follow-up by the health department.
  • We will be taking your temperature upon arrival. If your temperature is above 100.4 degrees you will be asked to reschedule.

We have worked carefully to develop protocol and procedures that are in line with what is recommended by the Department of Health Services, the CDC, OSHA, and other scholarly sources. While these procedures require a lot of change from both the client and therapist, they are what we feel necessary to safely provide bodywork to multiple clients per day.

If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to reach out, we are happy to make more accommodations or discuss options with you.
